The Speech and Language Advice Line is available for children and young people aged 0–19 years (and young people aged 16–19 who would like to call themselves). The service offers advice and support to families who have concerns about their child’s speech, language, communication, or talking.
Parents and carers are encouraged to contact the advice line if they:
- Are worried about their child’s talking or communication.
- Are waiting for Speech and Language Therapy support and would like advice in the meantime.
- Are unsure whether a referral to Speech and Language Therapy is needed.
The advice line will remain open throughout the summer holidays, providing continued support to families during this period. Please note that it will be closed on 8th September, as well as during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
